Position Overview
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery. This role ensures that all vehicles are in safe, operational condition, and repairs are completed in a timely manner. The Fleet Mechanic will also be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and communicating repair needs to the Fleet Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance; inspections, oil changes, and other repairs on fleet vehicles including trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to driveline, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and electronic components.
- Perform welding and cutting torch operations as needed.
- Properly document all repairs and maintenance activities in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of fleet maintenance/mechanic experience required.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
- Experience with Fleetio preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must have basic tools (we provide secure storage)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
